שעות הבוקר - מיד לאחר זיהויו של גלעד במצרים, קבוצת האסירים הראשונה תשוחרר - 25 אסירות לרמאללה, ושתיים, אמנה מונה ואחלאם תמימי, יועברו למצרים יחד עם שאר האסירים המגורשים. במקביל יועבר גלעד שליט דרך מעבר כרם שלום, סמוך לנקודה שבה נחטף, לשטח ישראל ומיד ייקלט על ידי צוות מצומצם שיכלול רופא ופסיכיאטר, ומשם יילקח לבסיס צה"ל הקרוב. בשלב זה אמור דובר צה"ל להודיע: "גלעד שליט בישראל".
בבסיס צה"ל יולבש גלעד במדי צה"ל, יקבל לידיו את התיק שהכינו לו הוריו וישוחח בטלפון עם אמו ואביו, שימתינו לו באותה העת בבסיס חיל האויר בתל נוף. בשלב זה תועבר קבוצת אסירים שנייה ממחנה עופר לרמאללה.
11:00-12:00 - גלעד ימריא במסוק לבסיס חיל האוויר תל נוף במרכז הארץ, שם ילווה בירידה מהמסוק על ידי ראש הממשלה נתניהו. מיד לאחר מכן יפגוש גלעד את בני משפחתו הגרעינית המצומצמת, ואת הרמטכ"ל ושר הביטחון. לאחר ההגעה צפוי ראש הממשלה לצאת בהצהרה קצרה לתקשורת. במהלך שהותו בבסיס תל נוף יעבור גלעד בדיקות רפואיות מקיפות.
