What most people don't realize is that running an online business takes a lot of work. There are a lot of details to consider and it's easy to get lost in those details. You become overwhelmed and lose track on the important things that you should be paying attention to. With everything that's involved, what SHOULD you focus on when running an online business? Should you focus on building a list, link building, social networking? Is there a way to keep track of everything without losing your business goals? With all the details involved in running an online business, it's easy to see how a business owner could lose his or her mind. To prevent this from happening, you only need to focus on 5 things. Focusing on these 5 things will help you manage your business easier. Once managing your business becomes easier, you business will thrive and you'll have the freedom to live the 4 hour work week lifestyle. 1. Understand everything about your business model and follow it. Successful business plans work because each component contributes to its success. To implement these plans correctly, you need to understand every aspect of it. 2. Find a good market and study it. You're in this business to make money. So make it a point to look for niches that will make you money and you can compete in. How do you do that? By studying the different markets and the spending habits of the people of those markets? What do these people buy? How much do they spend? Will you be able to turn a profit wth these markets? 3. Make sure your website works. A website that works is a website that serves its purpose, which is, to make sales. Design your site to convert as many visitors as possible into customers. Having an attractive website isn't as important as having a website that works. 4. Do SEO for your website. There's not getting around doing SEO. No matter how good your website is, you'll need SEO to get people do your site. I recommend doing consistent, good quality, white hat on-page and off-page SEO. 5. Outsource jobs. Outsourcing is not a cop out. It's hard to do everything by yourself. If you do, you'll end up working for your business instead of running it. To run your business you need to think like a CEO. Delegate tasks that are better by people who are more qualified for the job. Focus on developing your business. Give the dirty work to someone else.
